Abhishek Shrestha is a climate justice activist with over 15 years of experience working with the global climate justice movement. He has led and worked with movements, groups, activists, and youth in Asia focusing on movement building,organizing,mobilization, people's research, and policy advocacy nationally and globally related to climate justice, climate finance, IFIs, energy democracy, debt justice, and developing people-led climate justice narratives.
Abhishek is a Chevening Scholar and holds a Master's degree in Climate Policy from the University of Sussex, UK, in 2013. Abhishek taught as an Assistant professor ( visiting faculty) at Kathmandu University, Nepal and led Digo Bikas Institute for 10 years before joining FIA.
As the Regional Coordinator for Asia , Abhishek is responsible for providing support, coordination and strengthening national alliances and working with movements and groups from the region for the growth of the alliance. At FIA, his work focuses on working with grassroots groups and elevating their stories of resistance and resilience to a global audience.
