Michelle is Resource Mobilisation Lead at Fight Inequality Alliance, a role focused on contributing to FIA’s work and impact by diversifying and growing a sustainable funding base. Michelle is a financial resilience strategist with over 20 years of experience helping social and environmental justice organisations, foundations, and movements strengthen funding, attract mission-aligned investment, and scale their impact. She combines hands-on expertise in philanthropy, donor engagement, and blended-finance vehicles with a deep understanding of capital markets.

Michelle advises nonprofits on diversifying revenue streams, structuring impact investments, and building long-term, trust-based relationships with funders. As a consultant she has both practical experience supporting a wide range of grassroots networks and organisations to diversify and grow resources, and academic roles as a sessional lecturer and researcher. She is a co-founder of consulting collective Better by Codesign.

Michelle has an MBA from the University of Cape Town, and Honours degrees in Journalism and English.
